Symphony Guild
The first meeting of the Amarillo Symphony Guild was held in May 1955 with Mrs. George Hammock presiding as president. Since its inception, this women's auxiliary has raised awareness and funds to expand the Symphony's reach into the community. The first fundraising event in 1955, which still continues today, was the Symphony Ball. In 1962, the Guild initiated a project called Symphony Sweethearts, which has evolved into the Belles and Beaus program. The Guild's energetic volunteers enable the Symphony to deliver important programs including Lunch and Listening, and Christmas Roundup.
THE MISSION OF THE SYMPHONY GUILD:
To support and augment the programs of the Amarillo Symphony, incorporated in the development of its Orchestra, and to educate and stimulate appreciation of music in the community.
