Symphony Ball

The Amarillo Symphony Guild’s annual Symphony Ball is a perennially popular fundraiser that’s known throughout the city as the party of the year. Lavish themes, extravagant menus and boisterous entertainment make each year’s Ball an event not to be missed.

The Ball also serves as the formal presentation for Symphony Belles and Beaux.

All proceeds benefit the Amarillo Symphony and its main educational and entertaining programs, including KinderKonzerts, Concerts for Young People, String Family, Lunch & Listening, and Instrument Express.

Christmas Roundup

Christmas Roundup is a three-day holiday gift market held at the Amarillo Civic Center benefiting both the Amarillo Symphony Guild and the Amarillo Art Museum Alliance.

Christmas Roundup 2010 kicks off with a Girls' Night Out premiere party from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday, November 4, in the Civic Center South Exhibit Hall. Tickets are $15 and are good for re-entry all weekend.

Shopping hours are 10 am to 6 pm Friday, November 5, and Saturday, November 6, and noon to 5 pm Sunday, November 7. Shopping is located in the Civic Center South Exhibit Hall. Admission is $5 per person; children 12 and under are free.

The Luncheon & Style Show runs from 11:30 am to 1 pm Friday, November 5, in the Civic Center Heritage Room. Admission is $25 per person and is good for re-entry all weekend for shopping.

This collaborative event began in 1980 and has become a popular holiday tradition for people in Amarillo and throughout the Panhandle. Merchants from across the south and southwest rent booths to show and sell their gift items in a festive holiday environment.  Items range from Christmas decorations and clothing, to jewelry, art and antiques, to food and gift items.

 

 

Symphony Belles and Beaux

Belles and Beaux are high school seniors who serve as ushers for the Amarillo Symphony concert season. These young ladies and gentlemen, the sons and daughters of Guild members, attend orientation meetings and social events to prepare them for the job of greeting patrons, taking tickets, and ushering at the Symphony concerts. They also perform an annual service project and are presented at the Symphony Ball in February. The deadline for Guild nominations of Belles and Beaux is January 31st of the student’s junior year in high school. Their parents must have purchased a membership in the Symphony Guild their junior and senior years and must have purchased two season tickets to the Symphony their senior year. Orchestra Courtesy

The Orchestra Courtesy committee provides light refreshments for the orchestra during dress rehearsals before each concert weekend. Volunteers sign up in advance to serve as hostesses at each rehearsal. For information, call 376-8782.
