Belles & Beaux

Belles and Beaux are high school seniors who serve as ushers for the Amarillo Symphony concert season. These young ladies and gentlemen, the sons and daughters of Guild members, attend orientation meetings and social events to prepare them for the job of greeting patrons, taking tickets, and ushering at the Symphony concerts. They also perform an annual service project and are presented at the Symphony Ball in February. Their parents must have purchased a membership in the Symphony Guild their junior and senior years and must have purchased two season tickets to the Symphony their senior year.

Requirements

  1. Nominations for Belles/Beaux may be submitted IN WRITING ONLY, by mail, to the President-Elect of the Guild  in the year that the nominee is a junior in high school. Members may feel free to nominate their daughters/sons.
  2. The nominee must be the daughter/son of a member in good standing of the Guild who has been a member during the nominee's Junior and Senior years.
  3. The nominee must be the daughter/son of a family or individual who holds two (2) season tickets to the Amarillo Symphony during the nominee's Senior year.
  4. The nominee's term of service will be the year that the Belle/Beau is a senior in high school and/or 18 years of age, subject to approval by the Belle and Beau Chairmen.

*Consideration may be given by the Belle and Beau Admissions Committee to girls/boys whose families have moved to Amarillo during their junior years, or in other situations deemed acceptable by the Committee.

 

Final approval of girls/boys meeting these requirements will be made by the Belle/Beau Admissions Committee.

Belle/Beau responsibilities will include:

  1. Ushering at Symphony concerts and other service requirements of the Guild.
  2. The purchase of the Belle/Beau ensemble.
  3. A $175.00 fee to the Guild as an active Belle/Beau or a $225.00 fee to the Guild as an associate Belle/Beau.
