Amarillo Youth Orchestra Conductor

Roger Edwards is a graduate of Wayland Baptist University in Plainview.   Retiring from Amarillo High School after 39 years of teaching bands and orchestras, Edwards is currently serving as the University Interscholastic League Music Executive Secretary for Region 1, and is helping part-time with Bushland ISD’s band program.

Edwards’ bands and orchestras at Amarillo High School, Borger, Tulia and Plainview have all demonstrated high levels of success in UIL competition and through performances in festivals in many states. Edwards is very active as a clinician, adjudicator and performer. 

He and his wife, Bennie, have been married 40 years and have four grown children who are all performing musicians and teachers.
